Take Action / Legislative Actions
Sex trafficking is involving young children more and more, usually as a result of domestic violence and families in poverty looking for a way to make money.
Bills introduced Sept 5-8, 2023 include S. 2744, sponsored by Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), to provide grants to transit operators and airports for human trafficking awareness, education, and prevention.
Congressional hearings have addressed child protection, including "Children are Not for Sale: Examining the Threat of Exploitation of Children in the U.S. and Abroad" (House Judiciary Subcommittee) and "Children are not for Sale - Global Efforts to Address Child Trafficking" (House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee).
