Session 1, Trust Game

A "trust game" was assigned as part of the pre-work for session #1.  During conversation, it seemed that people had some feedback about this game.  I invite your comments, complaints, questions, ah-ha moments about this experience.

Check out this fun game about implications of trusting or not trusting another:

I thought it was a very interesting concept to see how easily trust can be gained or broken. However, it took a long to time to go through everything, and then we didn't really talk about it while in session. Maybe this should be the pre-homework for a session when this is what we are specifically talking about trust in the parishes.

It was interesting, but I see the connection to trust in a very abstract way. What am I missing?

What stood out for me was the role of communication - and, especially, miscommunication - in the potential loss of trust. That and, I think, a prevailing cultural outlook of scarcity rather than abundance place enormous barriers to creating and nurturing trust in community.
