Conveners:  Dr. Nancy Foster, Great Lakes and The Rev. Canon Percy Grant (Retired), Ohio

This is a network for retired clergy, a place to find others, who have gone from a very active, creative and central role in the church, to a back pew. Your time is your own, so now what? This gathering provides a knowledgeable group to talk about how to deal with a spiritual life that does not involve preaching. And will help navigate supply asks, traveling on Sunday, and saying no. A place to be with others who have been in leadership in an ever changing church, but are now watching from the sidelines or perhaps not watching at all. This is being offered now because of the many people asking questions about making this transition. A team of coaches - one ordained and one lay - will ask questions and to find creative ways to address the questions and concerns (no wandering into theological quagmires). Join together with other retired or retiring clergy for support and fun.

The Rev. Canon Percy Grant
Percy Grant retired as the Canon for Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio after 16 years in 2023, and has been a priest for over 30 years.
Discernment is a major theme in her ministry, starting with the formation and leadership of the Young Priest Initiative in Virginia. This led to a call as the Transition Officer in the Diocese of Ohio. She worked with both congregations and clergy in search and understood that priests begin discernment long before ordination and continue to discern after the last call.

Dr. Nancy Foster
Nancy is a lay person who has training in being a retirement coach as well as a certified church leader coach. She chooses not to retire but to find purpose and fulfillment in coaching others. She is active in her covenant of two parishes who share a rector and work together to do ministry in their communities. Diocesan work is also very important for her and she loves working with other individuals or groups in the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes.  Nancy has been part of a team offering a cohort for retired/retiring clergy that provides one on one coaching as well as group meetings to assist clergy plan for and discern what comes after full time parish ministry. She and Percy Grant are working together to offer this program again soon.
