The Province V Youth Ministry Network exists to better equip those who minister with youth ages 12-18, and to create stronger, healthier youth ministries throughout the province. The network also provides opportunities for congregations and dioceses to connect to the wider Episcopal Church through events like General Convention and the Episcopal Youth Event.
The network is comprised of diocesan youth coordinators from each diocese in the province. We gather twice a year to pray, share resources, support one another, learn best practices, and care for our wellness. We also hear the latest news from The Episcopal Church regarding upcoming events and programs

In the fall, we encourage members of the Youth Ministry Network to attend the “Days of Awesome” retreat where diocesan coordinators from around the Episcopal Church gather to talk about questions and challenges in diocesan youth ministry. The September 2017 gathering was held in Atlanta and 43 people from 33 dioceses were present.

Our spring retreat is hosted by one of our dioceses in Province V and provides training for network members in ministry skills as well as opportunities to share questions and resources with one another. The March 2017 gathering was held in Saugatuck, MI at the All Saints Retreat House and featured a training in Fierce Conversations facilitated by Courtney Reid from the Diocese of Chicago

In July 2017 many youth and leaders from the province attended the Episcopal Youth Event in Oklahoma City. The event featured programming centered on the theme of "Path to Peace." We enjoyed rich worship experiences along with the 1500 EYE participants gathered from all corners of the Episcopal Church, featuring lively music, dance, and engaging preaching from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and others.

We attended Plenary Sessions to hear from guest speakers on the event theme and Praxis Sessions, which offered opportunities to learn about topics such as non-violent communication. Chad Senuta, Province V Youth Ministry Coordinator, led a session on conflict resolution. This wide variety of offerings provided participants the chance to learn practical ways to channel their leadership as peacemakers in the world.

In March 2018 we plan to host another retreat for diocesan youth leaders. And the 2018 “Days of Awesome” retreat will be held in the Diocese of Colorado. Province V Grant funds will be used for lodging and program for the spring retreat and for registration/transportation/lodging expenses for those who need it to attend the fall retreat in Colorado.
