Tips for using Zoom
Technology is great! It is also sometimes confusing or overwhelming. Here are some tips for having a great Zoom call!
The technology of video conference calling allows us to meet without the time and expense of traveling. It is not as good as a face-to-face meeting, but better than just a phone call. To make the best use of a video conference, there are a few things we can do. Adjust the camera angle so that it shows your face straight-on, not from below, and so that your head and shoulders nearly fill the screen. Be aware of your background – it is best to have a plain wall behind you, and not to have people or pets moving through the background. When you are not speaking, press “mute” for your microphone – microphones pick up more background noise than we realize, and the background noise clutters the sound signal. Enjoy your zooming!
